Each cactus piece is handmade using a lost wax casting process. First, I carefully select a section of prickly pear cactus skeleton. That skeleton is molded, then silver or gold is poured into the mold. The result is a solid metal replica of the cactus skeleton, which is then made into a piece of desert-inspired jewelry. Each eco-friendly piece uses 100% recycled sterling silver and gold.
Hi, I'm Clare, owner and maker of Lila Clare Jewelry. I make each piece of jewelry from the actual dried fibrous skeleton of the prickly pear cactus, resulting in artisan jewelry made in and from the southwestern desert. I have been making these unique jewelry pieces from the cactus skeleton since 2010.
The earrings exceeded my expectations! They are so unique and substantive, and the size is perfect, and shows nicely. A classic style that is dressy or casual and with the necklace, bracelet and ring I have purchased over the years, the pieces together or alone are unique and eye catching. I always receive compliments. I am very pleased with this purchase!
Erika, thank you so much! I'm glad you like the hoops!
