Lila Clare Jewelry’s Desert Botanic Collection captures the delicate strength of the desert. Each piece is made using the intricate patterns of dried prickly pear cactus fiber, symbolizing desert beauty and wonder.

As a Tucson-based artist, I am inspired by the desert on a daily basis. From the majestic saguaro cactus, to the smell of the creosote during the rain, the Sonoran desert continues to amaze me. It’s an honor to translate something as instrumental to the cactus as it’s cellulose (aka fiber or skeleton) into botanical jewelry. From ethereal earrings that mirror the lace-like structure of cactus skeletons to bold necklaces that evoke the plant's resilient spirit, each piece tells a story of desert life.

My cactus fiber jewelry balances delicacy with durability, much like the desert flora that inspires it. Lightweight yet sturdy, these pieces are perfect for everyday wear. The fluid patterns you see in each piece is actually made from the prickly pear cactus fiber using a process called lost wax casting. With this technique, I’m able to get a metal copy of actual cactus fiber that I make into jewelry. The pieces are made with 100% recycled silver and gold, as one of my core beliefs is to sustainably create meaningful jewelry.
