These handmade small pointed teardrop cactus skeleton earrings are made from actual skeletons of Prickly Pear cactus (skeleton closeup shown). Using the lost wax casting process, each piece starts with a carefully selected section of Prickly Pear skeleton.

Jewelry made from the desert
Each cactus piece is handmade using a lost wax casting process.
- I choose section of dried prickly pear cactus fiber (yep, the dried cellulose from inside the cactus).
- I make a mold of that piece of cactus fiber, then pour silver or gold into the mold.
- The result is a solid metal copy of the cactus fiber, which is then made into a unique piece of jewelry.
Each eco-friendly piece uses 100% recycled sterling silver or gold.

I make each piece of jewelry from the actual dried fibrous skeleton of the prickly pear cactus, resulting in artisan jewelry made in and from the southwestern desert. I have been making these unique jewelry pieces from the cactus skeleton since 2010.
