Gold Small Pointed Teardrop Cactus Earrings
Jewelry handmade from prickly pear cactus fiber. Each piece is made using a solid metal copy of dried cactus fiber.
These handmade botanical earrings are inspired by the desert and cast from actual skeletons of Prickly Pear cacti (skeleton closeup shown). Using the lost wax casting process, each piece starts with a carefully selected section of Prickly Pear skeleton, which is then hand cast using recycled sterling silver.

Gold Small Pointed Teardrop Cactus Earrings
Jewelry made from the desert
Each cactus piece is handmade using a lost wax casting process.
- I choose section of dried prickly pear cactus fiber (yep, the dried cellulose from inside the cactus).
- I make a mold of that piece of cactus fiber, then pour silver or gold into the mold.
- The result is a solid metal copy of the cactus fiber, which I then made into a unique piece of jewelry.
